Why I Started Galactic Voyager

A few years ago I felt the need to share my passion for electronic, new age, atmospheric, and world music with the Los Angeles radio community. I took the idea to KCSN's general manager and program director who welcomed a weekly program dedicated to these musical styles. I had been involved at the station for some time already and felt that such great composers/performers as Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Loreena Mckennitt, Mike Oldfield, and others deserved a home in the L.A. radio scene;)

The History of Galactic Voyager

The first broadcast of Galactic Voyager took place from 11pm to midnight PST on Tuesday September 7th, 1999. The program has since been expanded to three hours (Tuesday evenings from 9pm to midnight PST). The show is dedicated to presenting the music of electronic, new age, atmospheric, space, world, and related electroacoustic composers/artists. New works are always welcomed and integrated into the program along with classics. I have been the host of Galactic Voyager since its inception in 1999.

Please listen in and let me know what you think:)

Sincerely,

Meishel (pronounced mee-shel)
